When you say clean meat do you mean you trim the fat? You need to get the fattiest cuts you can find. Ribeyes are very good. When you cut down on carbs your body will use fat for fuel. You need to start burning fat (by eating fat) to get your body to start burning fat (from adipose tissue).
Don't worry about calories. Calories don't count, it's what type of calories, where they come from.
Beef jerky is a great snack, if you make it yourself. Read the label off of the stuff you buy in the store, chock full of sugar and chemicals.
I drink unsweet tea, black coffee, water, and an occasional adult beverage. When loosing I ditched the alcohol. It took me a while to get used to the black coffee. Heavy cream is okay but watch out for the sugar.
Also, watch out for the sugar free drinks. Sweet tastes also cause an insulin reaction. Insulin's only function is to clear all fatty acids and glucose from the bloodstream and store it as fat.
Some others here may have differing opinions but that is what worked for me.

Wow. That may be what I need to try. I have been eating a lot of apples, watermelon, and oranges. Along with clean meat. Some beef jerky as snacks. The only liquid I have had is water and some coffee in the morning

When I first went paleo (according to Audette) I was loosing 1.5# per day. I went from 218 to 180 in 5 weeks. I did not eat fruit. Eggs, Bacon, Chili, and nuts. I did eat raisins every now and then. That was about it. But everyone is different, it might not work for you.

Just needing to know if I'm keeping to less than 50g will that work. Most of the carbs are from morning coffee and furits throughout the day. I have been doing crossfit every third day.
