I rechecked the details from the Boy Scout website and this is
actually a two week trip, 12 full days in the wilderness. It's
starting to look like pemmican, jerky, dried fruit, nuts, larabars.

Y'all would not believe the crap they serve at this camp (Philmont).
Get a load of this from their materials on nutrition and food
ingredients:

"Philmont trail food is, by necessity, a high-carbohydrate,
high-caloric diet. The menu provides between 2,700 and 3,100 calories
per person per day. It is high in wheat, milk products, sugar and corn
syrup, and artificial coloring/flavoring. If an individual is allergic
to some food products or requires a special diet, suitable trail food
must be purchased at home and brought by that individual to Philmont."

Welcome to God's wilderness. Have a poptart.

Jim
