This is exactly why I said I found the article
disturbing!   I feed my 14 month old son a Paleo diet
- meat, fruit and veggies.

Luckily many sources say these are the best foods for
toddlers anyway, but still...  I would hate for my son
to die for some unrelated reason and then be told I
couldn't eat that way anymore as well as how to school
my children!

I agree that there was definate neglect in this case
because the child was so small and not gaining weight
properly, but I fear this will set a precedent that
government can start coming in telling people how to
feed and school their children.

Also from what I hear there was something else wrong
with this child that caused this death.
