Last year we took down a doe from our woods.  When we were butchering her, we came upon her udder filled with milk.  If I had to guess, I'd say there was maybe at most 1/2 cup of milk inside her bag.  So, from a hunter/gatherer perspective, if I had kept that milk to drink, or ferment, it would be a scant amount to share with my tribe.  Dairy consumption is a by product of neolithic farming practices.

Besides, coconuts makes better  butter/ yogurt/ ice cream and seeds make delicous cheeses without all the mucous side effects, IMHO.

Best,
Batsheva

As regards the other raw dairy comment:- Absolutely, raw cows' dairy is meant for calves,  it is not a human food at all.
