He is referring to a couple of studies done in Europe
a few years ago. The researchers found that after
fasting through the night, the body had a tendency to
burn more stored fat during vigorous exercise. The
problem is that the study was misinterpreted by some
excercise enthusiasts to mean that the body burns more
calories. That is simply not the case. Your body will
burn the *same* number of calories during exercise.
It's just that immediately following the nightly fast,
a *greater percentage* of those calories will be fat
calories.

I get really frustrated with these "personal trainers"
who continue to promote inaccuracies.
