Must stick my .02 into this thread before it's broken from pulling teeth.
:-)

Not taking anyone's side here, but in an etymological sense a Paleo diet
very much could be seen as a religion.

*re* (prefix) =  to do again
*lig* (root) = to tie
(related words = ligament, what "ties" muscle to bone; ligature/ligation as
in tubal ligation or having "tubes tied")
*ion* = noun suffix, telling what part of speech the word is

The word *religion* when used in the customary sense, presumes that man
(generic human sense) was once tied/connected to God but has been split
apart from God and therefore must be *re-tied* to God.

If we apply this same etymological meaning to Paleo diet as well, we don't
just presume but know that modern humans have been split apart from our
paleo roots, and what we're trying to do is reconnect (re-tie) ourselves to
it as best as we can.
