the part of hemp that is commercailised as food  is the seed , a favored
seed for pigeons. it contains one of the few vegetal oils that are pretty
well balanced in the ratio omega 3 omega 6 .
for a long time this food have been banned in north america because  it is a
variety of marijuana that have been bred to have no THC the active drug.(
but hard to makes the difference in look)

my goats love the foliage so for them  it is a vegetable .
