Yes!  Even chicken breast contains polunsaturated fatty acids, 26% (omega
6s); dark meat contains even more. Animals fed grains and soybeans contain
more omega 6s than totally grass/range fed beef/lamb/poultry.

Free range eggs from health food stores still contain an excess of omega 6s;
if you can find DHA rich eggs that would be even better.  Eggs from a farmer
who lets his chickens run would be a good intermediary product.

Check out <www.eatwild.com> to see if you can find a source of totally grass
fed meat and fowl in your area.  Also, get the leaner cuts of meat to reduce
omega 6 intake, then add omega 3s or monounsaturated oils to your meals as
needed.

I recently got guinea fowl from a local farmer.  He raises chickens,
turkeys, guinea fowl, pheasants, and used to have true wild turkeys before
his neighbors dogs ate 200 of his birds (including the turkeys!)  His birds
run around in a yard, peck at bugs and worms.  They still eat grain but get
more insects than regular animals in captivity.  They get fresh air and
sunshine too!  They cost LESS than the free range chicken from the
supermarket!  (No middleman!)  They are also processed BY HAND in a smaller,
local processing plant, making them safer for consumption.

Anyway, we ate 3 guinea fowl last week and 1 chicken of his.  Even the dark
meat of the guinea fowl was lean and muscular compared to modern chickens.
His chicken had stronger tendon attachments and was more muscular than the
hormone and antibiotic free chicken we'd been getting from a local
supermarket.   We enjoyed the stuff.  I bought 4 more chickens and a goose
(something new!) yesterday.  Most will go in the freezer, which is always
well stocked.  Oh, he had good eggs for a bargain too!
