Mary-- it doens't have to be choice of ketosis or a gluten-based diet. My
problem with a keotosis-inducing diet is that its extremely low levels of
carbohydrate means that the dieter is denying himself/herself the
vitamins, minerals, fiber, and phytochemicals of a diet rich in fruit and
vegetables. That someone says they feel good impresses very little. When
I smoked, I loved it-- as do most cigarette smokers. Lots of foods and
chemicals that are not particularly good for our insides can make us feel
good. No reputable scientific body has every given their stamp of
approval for any anticancer supplement or food, except for "a diet rich in
fruit and vegetables." (And dietarily speaking, cancer and heart diesease
seem to have similar etiologies.)

Todd-- I'm wondering if you're an exerciser like me. On a low carb diet,
my aerobic and strength-training performances really drop. Is there any
one out there who does serious exercise and survives on a low-carb diet?
I would really love hear from the exercisers on the list.

Cheers!
