I'm intending to order a half side of (100% grassfed) beef from Rafter
Ranch. My freezer can only hold about 40-50 pounds, so I'm looking for
a few other people who would be interesting in sharing (I'm expecting
about 120 lbs total). The cost is $2 per pound unprocessed, which I'm
guessing is about $2.85/lb after "cutting loss." From Rafter Ranch:

A 1/4 will weigh anywhere from 100 to 175 pounds depending on
the size of the animal. My guess about the animals we are having
processed right now would estimate their weight about 160 pounds.
Of the 160 pounds you can expect about 70% edible meat, the rest
is cutting loss, bone, saw kerf. For $320 you will take delivery of
what we would normally sell for about $400 by the cut.

If you're interested in sharing this order with me, and can
meet me in Berkeley (or further north), please send me email.
