My experience has been that carbohydrate intake is the strongest weight
loss factor.
When I want to loose weight (which I am doing right now) I eliminate
almost all
carbohydrates, a la Atkins Diet. Remember to drink gallons of water
and take
vitimins when doing low carb diets.

I started at 220 lbs. Rediced rapidly to 190, than on paleo, with too
many apples, gained back
to 199, and am now back down to 186. When I hit my target of 180, I'll
go back to a paleo
diet, but heavy on the salads, and light on the fruits.

I'm interested in hearing from other list members: Have you lost
weight
eating
paleo? I've been eating totally paleo for six weeks and haven't lost
a
single
pound. Last week I analyzed what I was eating, and figured out that I
was
eating
way too much fruit and dried fruit, so I have cut back ala Protein
Power
guidelines
to somewhere between 30 and 50 grams per day. Still not a pound lost.
Since I've
got 70 pounds excess on my frame, I am really keen to get some of it
off
without
ruining my health (what's left of it, anyway... :-)
