I'm a million years behind in reading messages so maybe this has been
addressed; if so, please pardon my (upcoming) bad.

So I've been sort of monitoring stories on low-carb diets in general of
late. This week's hits include a feature in New York magazine and the cover
of USA Today's Lifestyle section. Okay, good. Then today I'm in line at
the Piggly Wiggly and pick up a copy of Us (gotta know what George Clooney,
J-Lo and Michael Jackson are up to!) and see an ad for Baba Wawa's annual
"Ten Most Fascinating People" special. Among her contenders? Dr. Robert
Atkins.

I know, I know, his diet isn't nearly as nifty as that which we subscribe
but you have to admit, it ain't too shabby. I did a quick Nexis search and
the number of stories done on low-carb diets between June first of this year
and yesterday tallied 633. And that's just stories that are traceable. Far
more have been done. People can't get enough of this!
