Okay, *important* question here.  Do you (and--hey!--others out there)
calculate the *actual* grams of protein in the meat you eat or just estimate
it based on X oz/gms of "meat" = X gms of protein.  The Eades give the
guideline that 1 oz of meat = 7 gm protein.  BUT a piece of meat is not pure
protein, so this guideline is hardly even approximate for many cuts/types of
meats viz the USDA nutrient database and Cordain.

For instance, I had 132 gms/ or abt 4 5/8 oz of rib steak tonight, trimmed
of all visible fat,  but the intramuscular fat, was, I imagine, pretty
substantial  (maybe close to half?), though not visible to my eye.  I
haven't checked the USDA for this.

I haven't calculated my daily protein needs in almost a year, but it's
probably close to or at 70 gms a day, based on lean body mass.
