Hi Don,
William is talking about Gary Taubes' book titled Good Calories Bad
Calories. It is a powerful read that makes a very good case for
saturated fats. I don't agree with Williams assessment, but I do think
that Taubes' book should be one you make available if you can. It
debunks a lot of the nonsense around cholesterol testing and explains
how modern medicine got on the wrong track with that one. It also
implies that they are going to ease into doing breakdowns of LDL into
subgroups that will eventually vindicate their long standing, incorrect
focus on total cholesterol, then characterizing the HDL as "good" and
LDL as "bad". It would make for a very long post if I tried to
summarize the whole book, but it is certainly the catalyst that seems to
have moved many medical professionals away from current conventional
wisdom about saturated fats. The radiologist who has the PaNu site was
persuaded by Taubes' book.

Best Wishes,
Ron
