The abnormally high levels, and abnormally low levels are
both signs of disease. Too low is supposed to be linked to
all sorts of mental and emotional diseases, and various
physical ailments, especially stroke. Too high, over about
300, is linked to heart disease. Cause and effect is still
to be worked out.
