Hi Mary,

>>> Does breast milk contain gluten, if the mother has been eating gluten?

There is much discussion about this on the No-Milk List and the Celiac
List. The concensus is that dairy and gluten eaten by the mother gets into
the breast milk.
When I was in the Leche League, some mothers said that if they ate hot
peppers, the babies would get gas!
One of my children had a terrible diaper rash due to my eating dairy and
gluten. Another one established her celiac disease while breastfeeding.
Nevertheless, I think gluten-filled breastmilk is healthier than formula or
milk from another animal.

 old grandmothers--what the mother eats
>>affects the child!

we need more old grandmothers around here!

All the best,
Susan
