Hi Alec,

I will preface that I am allergic/intolerant to most foods, including
paleo ones.

Fruits, veggies, nuts, and seeds cause me all kinds of problems,
including allergy type symptoms, itchy, watery eyes, headaches,
lethargy, joint pain, you name it.

The only thing paleo that doesn't cause those problems is meat and
fat. I can eat any type of meat, including pork, chicken, eggs, etc. I
only use salt & pepper for seasoning, otherwise I get can reactions
from seasonings. Sometimes I react to seasonings, other times I do
not, so to play it safe, I stick to salt & pepper (I use sea salt).

I would eat only meat and fat, except for I get horrible depression
and lethargy eating only meat and fat. I've tried doing it three
times, for 3 months each time, and didn't lose weight, and never got
energy like others do.

Awhile back, Todd Moody on this list had mentioned how he tried the
Steak Lover's Diet by Melvin Anchell. I was struggling with all my
food problems, and started developing an eating disorder from all
foods making me sick, so I tried that. Amazingly it worked, made me
satisfied, and I lost weight very easily.

I find that I do the best eating mostly meat and fat, and throw in the
two foods I have no problem eating, sometimes once a day, and
sometimes every other day, or even once every three days. These two
foods are potatoes and white rice.

I did stumble on something called the "fail safe diet" and found it
interesting that potatoes (thickly peeled) and sushi rice were found
to not cause problems.

Most of my meals are eggs and ground beef patties. I'll throw in a
ribeye once or twice a week. Chicken wings, drumsticks, or legs for
variety. Then i'll have a potato or rice serving here and there, like
I stated before.

Yes, I know the potatoes and rice are not paleo, but I struggled with
foods and eating for 35 years, and am happy I finally found something
that works, so do not lecture me, lol. :)

Hope that helps, Liz
