I believe there are other reasons for calorie restriction being the only
"proven" way to live longer reliably, for many species. I feel it is more
fundamental. Perhaps it raises the efficiency of basic metabolic processes
and this greater efficiency is somehow responsible. But I don't think it's a
matter of just eating less harmful stuff.
