Absolutely.  I would eat the lettuce and celery for water content and
digestion and the tubers and roots for energy.  I don't need science for
that one but the seasons vary on this one. I just wonder which greens were
available with which roots and tubers.  The roots and tubers had a much
longer shelf life too.  Oliva
