> There are 2 types of diabetes...

Very familiar with that. FYI, everbahddy, Paul's 41 and learned about his
elevated glucose levels when seeing a doctor for something else (an injury,
no big whoop). She only told him it was on the high side, nothing on what
to actually DO about it; isn't it nice how much they care? Paul hikes a lot
so lack of exercise is not a problem. Just elevated glucose. His maternal
grandmother had type II diabetes but no one else to his recollection.

Maybe he's a slightly older edition of Ray Audette who wasn't heavy but
wound up with type II diabetes in his 30's, nonetheless. If memory serves,
hyperinsulinemics who don't see weight problems see things manifested in
their cholesterol and triglyceride levels and can develop heart disease; a
local radio talk show host who exercises almost daily and looked healthy as
a horse had to undergo a triple bypass last year. David Letterman had to do
the same. But I'm leaving that out mine and Paul's conversations for the
moment. :)
