You're right, man. They just can't comprehend it. They've been force-fed a
pack of lies so long there's no way in. And many of them just want to
believe it's time to die, for one or another reason. I tried like hell to
save my dad at 60; took him to the brilliant holistic, Standard
Process-pushing, blood-chelating expert, and tried to cook for him and buy
good stuff for him and feed him his supplements, but he wanted to give up.
My mom made it to 82, after a lifetime of alcohol and cigarettes, and there
was NO reasoning with her. Even at the end she couldn't believe they lied
to her about tobacco, couldn't believe they killed her and poisoned me with
the smoke into the bargain. She had switched from alcohol to hard candies,
in between the cigarettes.

It's because of this kind of stuff that I'm so hell-bent on finding the
right way, and so unwilling to compromise. I hate what killed them, what's
killing the others all around me, and I hate not being able to get even the
tiniest wedge of a clue into them. Makes a person kind of lonely and
desperate, and unable to commit to love...

Sorry; I'm in a funky mood tonight anyway
