Check out the book THE SACRED HUNT: HUNTING AS A SACRED PATH, AN
ANTHOLOGY
by Randall Eaton, Ph.D, to learn more about hunting, the sacredness,
etc.

If you want to read an engaging, entertaiing novel, or series of
novels,
that bear some relevance to paleo times, check out Jean M. Auel's
books, THE
CLAN OF THE CAVE BEAR, THE VALLEY OF THE HORSES, and THE MAMMOTH
HUNTERS.
While there may be some errors in it, is is very interesting and shows
how
people may have hunted. They way they killed animals for food sounds
less
"cruel" (harsh? shocking to some people) than the way a lion or tiger
would
have killed an animal and ripped it open, often before it was dead.

You can get them from the public library, in book form or as books on
tape.
The foods prepared sound good (to me, and probably to a lot of modern
paleo
people) and the knowledge people had of herbs, hunting, tracking, and
living
off the land are impressive.
