FWIW, it's quite common to read online reports of hypothyroid dogs being
able to have their thyroid meds (usually Siloxine) cut in half after 6 - 12
months on a doggie paleo diet (such as BARF, bones and raw food). I've had
a similar experience with two of my own - dosages cut by 20% and 50%. I
asked my vet about this and he speculated that perhaps since BARF is more
digestible it allows the meds to be utilized more effectively.
