Dr. John Lee's What your doctor may not tell you about menopause
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0446671444/o/qid=981660440/sr=8-4/ref

Dr. Lee studied this problem for many years and this is an excellent book.
He recommends natural progesterone in a cream that bypasses the liver when
applied. Many brands are out there but most are no good. He had them tested
and there are several good brands available over the counter in the USA. He
recommends progesterone cream rather than combo of estrogen and
progesterone. One major feature is that it prevents osteoporosis. He is
completely against the phoney drug company patented drugs that are supposed
to mimic real progesterone.

Unfortunately it seems that all experiments with female hormones use the
phoney drug company stuff and not the real thing.
