hi Kim,
no, you don't have to be in ketosis on a paleo diet.  you *could* be, if you
chose to eat only meat, but a Paleolithic diet, as outlined in NeanderThin,
includes nuts, vegetables, and fruit.  if you are eating these, you will not
be in a state of ketosis.
