We dog folks (well, pardon me) are familiar with the salmon fluke, in
Pacific salmon only. It's not the fluke which is a problem, but a bacteria
it harbors that causes a serious, often fatal illness in dogs. Ask any
Inuit or Northerner about "salmon poisoning" in their dogs. It is destroyed
by weeks of deep freezing, or simply by cooking. I, too, have eaten lots of
raw or undercooked salmon in the past, but I'm being more careful now,
because I always share with Tomo.
