Hi John,
I am in a position where, because of my two kids, I can not leave home
without a large bottle of water and some jerky or trail mix of some sort
(dried fruit, nuts, cut-up jerky). This always saves the day. Two of my most
valuable tools for paleo eating on the go are my food dehydrator and my
water bottle sling.
Also, you might learn where the sushi bars are downtown. Go in, order
sashimi (which is sliced raw fish- the most paleo thing downtown) and green
tea. Don't dip your sashimi into the shoyu (soy sauce which contains wheat)
but you can try the wasabe (firey green powder) if you dare. For sushi
etiquette check out http://www.stickyrice.com (which is NOT a paleo-oriented
site)
I have been able to order meat and a vegetable nearly everywhere I have
tried to eat when out in the past year (when I am out and find myself
starving; this happens rarely.) Once I ordered fries because that was the
only "vegetable" available, boy did I regret that choice!
Hope that helps a little,
Stacie
