I love pemmican. My husband tried some and said it tasted like roast beef,
lol. It's hard for me to make pemmican, because I love it so much, I eat it
for all my meals until it's gone, instead of the original intent (to save
for when I'm on the road or don't want to eat somewhere).

On Behalf Of Paleo Phil

It's not scientific, but I confirmed with two of my nephews what Ray Audette
said about kids loving pemmican. Just as I predicted, my younger nephew who
was raised on Paleo foods at an earlier age loved it more. He also likes raw
meat more than the older nephew.

Unfortunately, both love sweets more than anything, which seems to be true
of most human beings, including first-contacted peoples.

My nephews' response also means that I'm making pretty good pemmican now.
Even my father had a neutral, rather than bad, reaction to it. My first
batch was pretty lousy, as was another that I added some coconut oil
to--yuck! Other than that, I've had good batches.
