Palmitate is a saturated fatty acid. Rats are, like humans, omnivores. The study
was evidently conducted on RAT CELLS, which is different from a living animal,
and again different from a living human, so demands further investigation.
Furthermore, it is thought that insulin resistance is mainly caused by 1)
genetic factors 2) high blood glucose, so I am not claiming that humans should
eat a high-carbohydrate diet. Nevertheless, it seems to me it is important that
a high % of our fat intake comes from unsaturated fatty acids.
