Because I cannot accept that simple survival(no matter how advanced it might be) is even remotely equivalent to inventing writing or mathematics etc. Granted, hunter-gatherers have brought some benefit to humanity, no doubt about it, but one must have a sense of proportion. I just don't buy into the whole noble savage theory.
