Yes.  One of D'Adamo's reasons for using ABO blood typing rather
than other blood typing systems is that the ABO types are not
limited to blood cells.  Cells in the gut lining also display ABO
antigenic properties.  Thus, lectins can cause agglutination at
the gut lining itself.  It is well documented in animal models
that whole lectin molecules *do* enter the bloodstream in
significant amounts, and there is presently no reason to doubt
that this happens in humans as well.
