"You might also be craving the opioids in the pastry????"

Yes! Actually, the bottom pie crust with all the sweet juices! I actually ate some dark meat turkey for dinner. I'm not a fan of turkey, but I had a roast so cooked it up. I like the dark meat best. I haven't been eating much red meat as I have been really sick with a flu virus so have been sipping meat broth for days. I make my own broth but also use garlic and celery and onion in it. I use meaty marrow bones and fat. I usually make huge pots full and freeze in usable amounts. Very tasty. I could only tolerate the liquid - no solids - for almost 6 days. Maybe eating the pies lowered my immune system as I became ill right after that.
