PaleoFood. It's a subject tag that subscribers can turn on or off. Some
people like to know which messages come from the list. For others, using
filters on the To: field, they don't need it.

Also please remember that St. Johns, the list's host, has strick rules
against excessively quoting prior messages. This has yet again become a
topic of discussion on the list of listowners. There are now even web pages
