Stress can cause a lot of neck, shoulder and back pain. Trying to control the stress in your life is not always easy. Find an approach to lessen the stress by perhaps exercise, yoga, or even meditation. I too had a lot of issues with shoulder and back pain. I had seen the doctor for it not realizing it was all stress related. I have since joined a yoga class and find that the tension that had built up over the course of years has slowly dissipated and I no longer have the pain.

Also with regards to your computer uses and setup, make certain that your computer and chair is ergonomically correct for your height. A number of problems can flair up if it is not at the correct position for you.

Hope this is helpful.

All the best.

Karyn

Subject: Re: fibromyalgia/back pain/grains

I'd second the advice to look at Sarno's books. The trigger point
stuff works, as does massage, but for me the key is finding what it
is that is getting me tense and stressed out. Trigger point stuff
can address the symptoms but doesn't really get to the rot problem.
Sarno's approach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/
Tension_myositis_syndrome) isbasically that when you get stressed out
your body can case pain to distract you from your problems.... it
makes sense - stress causes a lot of problems.
