well, here's what i pack in a paleo lunch:
chicken, roast beef, carrot sticks, trail mix of nuts and dried fruits,
little boxes of raisins, hardboiled eggs, maybe a salad in a Tupperware
bowl, veggie soup in a Thermos, apples (really good with nut butter as a
dip), pears, grapes, oh, there's lots you could pack.  if there's no
refrigeration at the place where the kids keep their lunch, then freeze a
small water bottle or a juice box, and pack that.  it will keep things cool
for a few hours.
