Heidle-ee Ho, Huntereenos!

Thanks for the advice and counsel. Responses follow.

This makes the most sense to me. Congrats on all the weight lost!

I fear you may be right. Natural means of treatment are great, unless a
pill works better. With my low-body temperature, high prolactin and other
documented hormonal problems, something's going on up there. My former endo
suspected a pituitary tumor, but I had my full cranial MRI from a few years
earlier sent to her (malformation in left temporal lobe removed in '93, when
symptoms were the same as before going low-carb) and it showed nothing. I
went after PCOS treatment options because I knew I had that and, without
insurance, could only afford so much. Periods are now normal, by the way.
It could well be a double-whammy. Now I can afford to find out if this is
the case. I do have Kaiser, though, so wish me luck.*

175? Ha! You wish. Okay, here's the dirt. (I can't believe I'm going to
share these numbers!)

I started 1/1/98 at 255 pounds, size 24. In less than a year on Atkins, I
went to 205, size 16 or 18, depending on the style. I starting lifting
weights to help things along and put on ten pounds but my size remained the
same, so I still tell people I lost 50 pounds. I've been at or around 215
for a year and a half now. My booty just don't wanna budge! Insert swear
word here.

I can see a difference in the mirror and in the way my clothes fit. I won't
know the pounds lost in the last week or so until I visit the gym for laps
and step on the scale in my swimsuit.

Todd, my goal is 175! If I remember correctly, by the Eades calculation
method (from book #1) my 'ideal' weight is 154-165. Ten pounds over my
ideal? You'll never hear me complaining! I don't care about the number on
the scale; it's the number on my clothing tags that counts. Misses size 14
would be just fine. My idea of perfection and the fashion industry's dictum
are two separate entities. I can't remember her name, but there's a "plus
size" model whose physical beauty would stop a train, a bus AND a tidal
wave. If she's "fat", I wanna be fat when I grow up.

As for calories, I forgot to mention that I won't hold to 1200-1400 seven
days a week! I think an occasional increase (i.e. one or two meals a week
in which I have a little fun and eat a little more than normal) would keep
the Goddess of Metabolism guessing and serve me well.

To quote an 80's-flashback phrase, Thank yew fer yore support!
