Hmmmm. I can go both ways on this. Idealistically, I'll side with Paula. Pragmatically, I'll side with Don.



Economically - If trans fats are eliminated (and I'm sure they will be), the likelihood is that they will be replaced in processed foods with something worse (most likely scenario IMHO), or something that is OK but will increase the cost of everything. 



Originally, hydrogenated fats were SUPPOSED to be a healthier alternative to saturated fats (even though that's not why they were "invented"). I'm pretty certain the medical establishment is not going to readily embrace saturated fats, so who knows what this move will bring.
