There is no doubt that replenishment will occur, it's a question of
where the replenishment comes from. 

The argument that I have read for years (and that paleo for athletes is
endorsing) is that post workout there is a window of opportunity where
the replenishment can come from carbs with a hgi or it will pull it from
your muscles. 

At least this is what I have gotten out of it... I am going to have a
banana post workout for a while to see how this goes.

The science is very confused on this issue, as it is on many, many  
others having to do with nutrition.  If glycogen store replenishment  
is an issue for anybody, it's an issue for endurance athletes.  But  
read Phinney's study.  He's found that even in endurance athletes who  
are at *zero* carb intake, more than sufficient replenishment will  
occur.

You're not an endurance athlete, so you have to worry even less.
