The oldest living USA veteran (WW I) died at 112, according to the
Washington Post.

The obit said he ate 6 eggs every day, lightly scrambled, including eggs at
every meal. He chewed tobacco and ate a bowl of rice krispies with each
meal, too.

It is always interesting to hear about people who live extraordinarily long
and learn what they consume. This type of eccentric diet is not uncommon in
these accounts. While there are the vegetarians, there are a lot of the
steak 'n' eggs crowd in this rareified circle.

It's interesting because high protein is one of the tenets of paleo, and
rice, although not paleo of course, are probably among the least bad grains
from the point of view of food intolerances, allergies and "foreign
proteins."

Tobacco soothes the spirit and in my book is honorary paleo, a powerful herb
that has its purpose.
