My reply:
A baby draws on his/her mother's EPA/DHA stores while in the womb, and more
after birth if s/he is breast fed. It is well known (though I don't have a
reference) that first born children tend to be more intelligent, have better
development, etc., than second and third born.  If a mother has many
children, the development of later children suffers most. I have seen this
through my own observation.

If a mother does not wait three years between each subsequent child, to
replenish her own DHA stores, each successive child will suffer deficiency
and the mother will become increasingly weaker herself. In many primitive
cultures, it was common to wait three years between children and for both
parents to eat foods rich in EFAs and vitamins (organ meats especially) to
prepare for healthy offspring and to protect the mental and physical health
of the mother.

Some individuals may have exceptional intelligence despite a deficient diet,
because of their inheritance. However, their luck may run out as the age, if
the abuse their bodies and do not adopt diets that provide the necessary
nutrients.
