Has anybody else on this list been receiving a boatload of mail with
virus files attached? I've received several in the last couple of weeks.
Norton catches them, but the fact that I'm even receiving them drives me
nuts. The source is probably my niece, who is at university and sends
every joke she receives to her entire address book. I've asked her a
gazillion times to not do that, and explained why it isn't a good
practice - but so far my advice falls on deaf ears. If she ever sends me
anything important I won't see it because I delete most of her mail as
unread...lol The infected files started coming before she left for
university, so I'm probably being unfair in blaming her. The files I'm
receiving are the type that attach themselves to your address book, and
send themselves out to the entire thing every time you send mail.
Scanning your system at least once a week is always a good practice. I
*hope* none of the files I've received have gone back out - Norton seems
to be doing a good job of quarantining them.
