I was thinking this morning on my drive into work about how strange it is that some of the mainstream as well as cutting edge thinking on heart disease comes from my beloved Dallas. We've got UT Southwestern with their recent research on sugar-induced fat formation. Ken Cooper, a guy a think is well intentioned but 95% wrong in both his exercise and dietary recommendations, has his Cooper Clinic here. And my good friend Cass Wheeler is CEO of the American Heart Association headquartered here in Dallas, a group which shares with Cooper the dubious distinction of knocking people dead with low fat, high carbohydrate dietary recommendations.
