Hi,
I'm fairly new to Paleo Diet and to this list,
I went through the archives searching for answer,
but to no avail.

My "hobbies" include mountaineering and I'm a bit
anxious how to maintain performance for extended
perioids of time. I'm talking 9 to 10 hours of hard
walking and climbing, 10 miles horizontally and 1 - 2
miles vertically, up and down.
I used to have 3 litres (I'm from Finland <g>) of
sports drink laden with sugar and minerals. Sipping
it often through a hose I had no problems, extra water
from snow and occasional stream. This drink when made
with hot wate, so that it is still lukewarm after some
time was a true "ascent juice", it really kept me going.
This of course feels like a bad idea now since it's a
very refined product.

I have kept nuts and dried fruits with me before and
that I will do, so snacks are not a problem.

One thing I came up with was putting 40 to 80 grams of
honey and 1 - 2 grams of salt per litre with some lemon
juice.

Any ideas or experience?

With Regards
