Is maple syrup paleo?

My understanding is that the maple sap is not processed in any other way
than boiled at high temperature to become syrup. The Natives made it eons
before colonization.

And what about only the sap?

And honey? I see conflicting info in the archives.

I understand maple syrup is of limited use in a paleo diet, but a bit of
something sugar-y does wonders sometimes :)
