Is it possible that the use of sunscreen actually CONTRIBUTES to skin
cancer? Sunburn is our natural defense against excess sun exposure since we
have to limit our exposure to avoid it. When we cripple that defense by
artificially preventing sunburn, we allow ourselves to be exposed to very
unnatural amounts of sunlight. Don't get me wrong, I do use it on my kids
when I can't limit their exposure on days at the pool. But I think moderate
doses of "unprotected" sun exposure is good for them.
