Do keep in mind, folks, that it is possible to find "paleo" groups,  
whether real or imagined, who may or may not have eaten anything.   
Best IMO to start with what we know humanity has considered year round  
staples for the overwhelming time we've been here on earth.  Then  
venture from there with caution.

Squash is, I believe, a New World plant and therefore I would  
personally approach it with caution as I do all other New World plants.
