fair comment.  And It makes absolute sense that the move to cultivation was
preceded by wild gathering of grain seeds.  The question for us is to what
extent this was a cause of a decline in health, and we now know the
pathological effects of both high carb diets and the opioid nature of gluten
as well as its gut-eroding properties. Surely wheat is the winner in this
relationship.

Tidal pools, Amadues asks what could be eaten.  Well, mussles, pipis,
periwinkles, whelks, crabs.  From one beach in Australia 50 tons of mussels
have been collected in one year.

Cultivation and bang for the buck: intensive cultivation will produce much
more calories per acre than H_Gs will obtain.   Root crops [including the
fabled tubers] can produce several tons per hectare. This was not only eaten
directly but fed to domesticated animals, so the transition to cultivation
is not a straightforward move from animal foods to vegetable foods.  Again
for us its a question of what's healthiest; if 90% of westerners want to
follow a high carb diet there's plenty of animal foods for the rest of us.
