Hi Jim,

Thank you for the offer to discuss - you are very kind.

Basically, I know everybody is right and intellectually it makes perfect
sense. However, I struggled with an eating disorder for more than half my
life (I am 38 now) and while I don't engage in any of the destructive
behaviors anymore, such as starvation, etc., I still have to fight a lot of
negative thoughts. When I think about all this rationally I know I need to
cut back and before I know it I am worried about gaining weight/fat, getting
bigger, etc. At that point I have to remind myself that what I HAVE been
doing is not giving me the results I want anyhow. I am still battling a
layer of fat in my lower body that I never had before I got sick about 19
months ago. The phrase 'insanity is doing the same thing over and over
expecting different results' comes to mind.

The truth is, whether my adrenals are burned out or not, I am burned out. I
don't really look forward to my work outs anymore, especially the cardios.
Because of all this I had not done a cardio since last week Wednesday so I
did one this morning and it was a drag. All I could do is speed walk and I
did not enjoy it. I am fatigued and worn out and need to give myself a
break, but that is really, really hard. For now I have decided to lift 3 X
per week, and do 3 cardios per week, but what I really want to do is lift
weights and do pilates only - at least for a while - and give my body a
chance to rest.

Anyway, sorry this got to be so long. It just help to hear from others that
I AM doing the right thing. The fitness industry will tell you to ADD
cardios, but then they also don't typically consume a paleo diet.

So, if you have any more insight, links to the subject, etc. I would be more
than happy to read about it. That may just be what I need to keep me on
course with less exercise.

Thanks again,

Kristnia

> Kristina, I agree completely with Mike. Less is more. I also do high
intensity weight training but limit it to about 10 exercises, one set each,
twice a week. I found myself getting colds and having general lack of
energy when I've tried to add cardio to that. As long as you're not resting
between sets, the weight training puts more than enough strain on the
cardiovascular system. Email me if you'd like to discuss more.
