I think the problem here is that certain ISP's email programs do not allow
editing of the original message when simply hitting the "reply" button. So,
unless you print and retype only those passages that you wish to respond to,
you get the whole message. Since we are "paleo-programmed" to conserve
energy...the path of least resistance will rule out.
