Heart disease is caused by low-fat - not high fat diets.
The low fat hypothesis
was famously debunked by Gary Taub
in both the NY Times and the journal Science
see

and

The highest rates of heart disease
are found among those people in Japan
who eat a very low-fat diet
and exercise 6 hours per day.
They're called Sumo.see:
Roach, Mary,
"Advice from the World's Biggest Weight Experts: Their Gain Can Be Your Loss."
Health (March/April 1993) 62-72.
Describes the traditional, low-fat diet of Japanese sumo wrestlers.

The lowest rates of heart disease are found in those people in Africa
who eat the highest fat diet known to science
(65% by calories)
and never eat vegetable material.
They also assiduously avoid exercise in any form.
see:
Shaper, A. G. et al,
"Cardiovascular studies in the Samburu tribe of Northern Kenya."
American Heart JournalVol. 63 No. 4 (April 1962) 437-442.
